Most players who reach La Liga arrive with a fee people argue about and a highlight reel everyone has seen. Miguel Sierra arrived at Sevilla with almost no noise at all. He came through local clubs in Granada and a season in Spain's fourth tier. Less than two years after signing, he has a contract that runs to 30 June 2029. Clubs don't hand that kind of commitment to a 22 year old winger by accident, so it's worth looking at what Sevilla think they have.

Granada first, then a gamble in Asturias
Sierra's football started close to home. He played for UD Estrellas Chana Barrio from around 2014 to 2019, then spent three years at CF Reino de Granada between 2019 and 2022. In January 2022 Granada CF brought him into their academy. His senior debut came in March 2023 with FC Cubillas de Albolote, Granada's affiliate side in the Division de Honor Andaluza.
Then he did something many teenagers wouldn't. In July 2023 he left the Granada system altogether and joined Real Aviles Industrial in the Segunda Federacion. Leaving a La Liga club's pathway for a fourth tier side in the north is a risk. It's also how a lot of Spanish players actually get seen: regular minutes against grown men count for more than a comfortable place in an academy queue. For Sierra it worked. The scouts who noticed him there worked for Sevilla.
Thirty games in the reserves
Sierra signed a two year deal with Sevilla on 7 August 2024 and went straight to Sevilla Atletico in the Primera Federacion. His 2024 to 2025 season there brought 30 appearances, one goal and six assists.
Be honest about those numbers. Six assists is a useful return for a young winger settling at a new club. One goal is not. If there's a single thing standing between Sierra and a regular La Liga role, it's end product in front of goal, and the reserve figures make that plain.
Five first team games and a public promise
The 2025 to 2026 season brought the step up. Sierra made four La Liga appearances and one in the Copa del Rey. Five games is a small sample, but for someone playing regional football in early 2023 it's a steep climb in a short time.
In April 2026 Sevilla extended his contract to 30 June 2029, and the club reportedly said it intends to make him a regular part of the first team squad from 2026 to 2027 onwards. Clubs say plenty of things about young players. Putting three more years on paper is the part that carries weight.
What kind of winger is he?
Sierra is direct. He wants the ball at his feet and a defender in front of him. He is left footed but comfortable on either flank, and the two sides bring out different players:
- On the right, he cuts inside onto his left foot to shoot or slide a pass through.
- On the left, he plays more traditionally, staying wide and crossing.
At 1.81 m and around 70 kg, he has enough frame to hold off a full back without losing the quickness that makes wingers dangerous. His work rate has been described as medium in attack and defence, which suggests a player who picks his moments. Coaches at this level usually want more intensity than that, and it's the obvious area for growth alongside finishing.
What he earns, as far as anyone knows
Sevilla have not published Sierra's salary, and no reliable figure exists. For context, the average first team wage at the club sits around €2.2 million a year, and a young player on his first proper senior contract will be well below that average.
Icon Polls estimates his net worth at between $500,000 and $800,000, based on his Sevilla contract, likely bonuses and other income. Treat that as a rough guide, not a bank statement. It is an estimate for a player with five first team appearances. The more meaningful point is that a contract to 2029 gives his earnings room to rise if the minutes come.
Market value, and why the fee looks cheap
Valuation sites currently place Sierra somewhere between €234,000 and €456,000. Sevilla reportedly paid Real Aviles around €100,000 to sign him. Even at the low end of today's estimates, that already looks like good business.
Icon Polls' view is that a regular starting role could push his value into the €1 million to €3 million range within a couple of seasons. That depends on two things he controls only partly: how often he plays, and whether goals and assists follow at La Liga level.
The FC 26 card: a Career Mode project
In EA Sports FC 26, Sierra is rated 64 overall with a Career Mode potential of 74. The game lists him as a right winger, with three star skill moves and a three star weak foot. Nobody will build an Ultimate Team side around that card. In Career Mode, though, a cheap 22 year old with room to grow is exactly the kind of signing patient players like to develop into a solid squad option.
What has to happen next
Sierra's path so far reads well: academy, a brave drop down the pyramid, a productive reserve season, first team debuts, a long contract. The next chapter is harder.
